Saturday, March 17, 2012: 28 Weeks

As someone told me at work last week... I have 'popped' out!  LOL!
I not only 'look' pregnant to strangers now, but I also 'feel' very pregnant.  This was a rough few weeks since my last update.
I have been having some pretty serious lower back pain.  The dr. says that my SI joint (where your pelvis meets your tailbone) is being effected by the baby being so low in my abdomen.  I had to take 3 days off from work, but after really taking it easy, using ice packs and Tylenol, I am happy to report that I am feeling much better.  I also think the baby may have shifted a bit as I am now starting to feel kicking much higher than I was originally.
Cory and I have now felt the baby on the outside a bunch!  We definitely have a future Tae-Kwon-Do athlete in our future.  Baby Cooper rarely stops moving!  Lately, he/she has moved a little less...perhaps living space is becoming limited as he/she continues to grow.
I had my glucose test last week. UGH!  I hate sweet drinks, so that was basically like torture for me!  I am sure that my sweet-toothed husband would have LOVED it! :)  I haven't heard any news regarding the glucose test, so I assume at this point that no news is good news!
We are all signed up to attend our 'Preparing for labor, delivery, and beyond' class this weekend.  While I am looking forward to the class, I am more excited about the fact that I get to spend an entire weekend with my husband.
We both continue to feel incredibly blessed on this journey to parenthood.  Besides the back pain, I truly can't complain!  I am still sleeping fairly well and I continue to feel fairly comfortable too!  We both are in awe that in 12 short weeks we will be a 'mommy' and 'daddy'.  Yahoo!

Crib Construction

Our curious canine friend was wondering what we were working on...
boy, is he in for the shock of his life! :)
No, he isn't smoking.... He is enjoying a Blow-Pop for dessert!  He's such a 'big kid'!  That's why I love him!

This expression is on my face because Cory just attempted to grope me while we were putting the front of the crib together.  LOL!  He is SO funny :)
Almost done....

Baby Cooper's Nursery - After

Baby Cooper's grandpa came down to help do all of the painting.  He also put up a new ceiling fan, put together furniture, did some heavy lifting and was an all around HUGE help!  We are so grateful and lucky!
MJ's cousin Lauren also came to help to some painting!  It was great to see her to catch up on all of her wedding plans too!

The striped wall is almost complete!  We were so excited to take the tape down to see how it all turned out!
A calm, serene place for our little angel.  The curtains were fairly easy to make once I got the hang of it.  The crib skirt was also fairly easy to do.  It will be able to adjust easily once we have to adjust the height of the mattress as the baby grows.  The only thing we still need.... Baby Cooper!
A fluffy, over-stuffed chair for snuggling, feeding, sleeping, etc. :)
This is MJ's christening dress.  We plan to use it for Baby Cooper's baptism too!
This dresser was in my (MJ's) room when I was a little girl.  A fresh coat of paint and some new, modern handles made for the perfect changing table.  I also sewed two changing table covers.  One is seen here.  The other is a combination of the curtain fabric and the striped fabric!
 LOADS of storage!
Our wish truly has come true!

Baby Cooper's Nursery - Before

Our guest bedroom used to be a very, bright orange....it will soon have a complete makeover that will make it a much calmer and serene environment for Baby Cooper.

The first wall to be re-done was the 'soon-to-be-striped' wall.
We had to paint the base wall with the color white.
The final remnants of the guest bedroom...
